Class Dojo - Behavior Management Tool

I discovered Class Dojo a couple weeks ago, and I have been using it in my classroom for the past two weeks. I love it! Class Dojo is a behavior management tool for your entire class. Class Dojo is on the Google Chrome store and it is incredibly easy to use. All you have to do is import your class list and the program creates little avatars for all the students in your class. You can also set up your parent list and type in a parent email for each student.

The program is very user friendly. Students can receive either a positive or negative Dojo (point). For example if a student is working hard and on-task, the teacher gives the student a point for being on task. The program will make a little a noise and a positive note will appear on the board for the student. At the end of each day, teachers and students can check reports and a graph will appear with the percentage of positive and negative points for the day.

Teachers can also send these reports to parents daily or weekly by simply entering a parent email address.

This website has really helped motivate my class to be on task, I keep the website projected anytime I am not using my Smart Board so that students can see their points.

Sometimes I add or take-away the points, but I have also had students go up to the board and give themselves points. This works well for older students and gives them some time to reflect on their behavior either positive or negative. This week I downloaded the Class Dojo app for my I-Phone, which has made the process even less distracting.

I walk around with my phone and quietly give points to students I see working hard. Eventually, I would like to set weekly point goals for each student and if they reach their goal they can choose a prize. I think this tool would work great for all grade levels!

    1. No I don't mind at all. I hope other teachers find this tool as useful as I have!
